Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)
The only realistic option for patients who have had multiple pregnancies and/or notable a large weight-loss which has caused notable loose skin especially skin that folds over the waistline. Like liposuction, it can only address the fat which is above the muscle layer, that is, the fatty tissues can be pinched and pull forward. If there is a high degree of abdominal wall laxity that can be tightened up at the same time to give further flattening of the central and lower abdomen. The scar from the procedure curves low from hip to hip and is hidden in by clothing. Mild laxity can be addressed with a mini abdominoplasty and liposuction thus avoiding the scar around the belly button. Most patients are back to everyday activities within 2-3 weeks but heavy lifting or sporting activities which require a lot of “core strength” will need a full 6-8 weeks of recovery.
Our surgical procedures are highly individualized therefore we do not give estimates over the phone or e-mail.
